The toilet seat argument has probably been an ongoing debate since the creation of the first porcelain throne. I've known women who were so obsessed with having the toilet seat down, that it lead to the eventual destruction of their relationship.
Why all this hoopla I ask? And don't ask me what a "hoopla" is. K? Thanks.
I was verbally assaulted by a woman recently because I had left the toilet seat up. I know what you're thinking, "Oh boy, here's the testy girlfriend or roommate." But no, I fear this situation is much more dire. This was a work place encounter.
My first question to her was, "Well, why on earth are you using the men's bathroom in the first place?" Her answer was logical in that the "women's bathroom was always occupied" and she "couldn't hold it anymore." Fair enough. I enjoy sharing toilet space with a woman. It makes my bum much more happier to know a woman sat in that same space instead of some large, pimple-choked, man posterior.
This fellow employee then says "I HATE putting the toilet seat down. I have to use toilet paper to protect my hands from germs!" to which I calmly reply "What do you think I do when I have to lift the goddamn thing up?"
At this point, reactionaries would scream at me, but being the cool, level-headed woman she is, she replied "Touche'" and went about her day.
Her response has given me hope that all women will one day see that men fall into the same dilemma when lifting up toilet seats as women do when putting them down.
Thank you for your time.
